It's Winter so not much progress.
However I have started to clean up the engine bay...
So far I have cleaned up and painted the battery tray and some of the various brackets.

Power streering

Need to replace the goiters on the steering rack.
Did this once, but the ones that were recommended (from an Alfa) did not fit correctly.
Managed to get a set from Europe, but I still haven't fitted them.

Seems to be a slight leak from the power steering  reservoir

Dash

Dash has the compulsory cracks.
Tossing up whether to get it re-skinned.
Quote was $550 to reskin, wondering if the money can be better spent elsewhere...
Need to evaluate alternatives.

Airconditioning System

The car does not have aircon, but I have a system that possibly could be fitted.
Not keen on this at the moment as it probably is going to mean a lot of work.

Indicator Flasher Module

The indicator flasher module was  replaced by a conventional flasher can. This meant that the brake lamp warning light did not flash.
Managed to get hold of a 02040011 bitron module, installed it and very quickly realised why the previous owner got rid of it.
The sound of the relay, when the handbrake is on drives you crazy.

Not sure if anyone has modified one of these, but I figured that I would design my own based around an automotive flasher IC. I am currently designing the PCB so that it will fit into the original modules case.
I post a schematic once I have completed this unit, if any one is interested.
The other problem is that the module filled up with water. I suspect that there is a leak under the windsceen's rubber seal. So need to fix the leak, but I would like to relocate the mounting of the flasher unit.

Intro

This is my first attempt at blogging.
I hope to provide information about the Lancia Beta Coupe that I am restoring.
In addition, I will post info on the Lancia Beta that hopefully will be of use to Lancisti around the world.
Fell in love with the lancia beta coupe when I was young, eventually I bought my first coupe, a metallic brown with a green and brown interior... Not the best colour scheme, but I really loved that car...

75 Beta Coupe

Drove this car everyday until 2000, when it gave up. I still have the car, but it has a lot of rust and not worth repairing.
In the meantime I owned a 76 (silver) and a 78 coupe (azzurro) and a 76 HPE. I never really liked the HPE as much as the coupe, and unfortunately the HPE ended up in the scrap heap.
A few years ago I bought a red series 3 coupe which I still own, and plan to restore.
Series 3 Beta Coupe
I must admit I still miss the older coupe, the seats were really radical, the interior straight from the seventies. Don't miss the sloppy gear change and the blocked jets in the carbie though.
The series 3 is a pretty car, but call me nostalgic, as I still love the series 2.
